Banner Mesh is a banner created from polyester woven mesh fabric. It has similar properties to printed shade cloth, however, the smooth woven design of banner mesh allows for high-quality digital printing, whilst allowing air to flow through it.
Comparing banner material is not as easy as simply choosing the one that looks best. Consider the application of the banner and where it will be installed or displayed.
Airflow is the biggest difference between banner materials. Banners come in a closed weave or an open weave mesh, as well as a solid vinyl variety.
The closed weave or tight-knit offers high privacy with 80% block-out. This closed weave variety provides better print quality but restricts the airflow. The addition of wind slits can be provided for the manufacturing process, however, a better option is our open weave mesh. This variety is a better choice for high-wind or coastal areas.
Both open and closed weave mesh banners are made from UV treated polyester. They are easy to handle and install and help you comply with your OH&S regulations by reducing dust and debris from escaping from your site.
Vinyl banners differ from banner mesh, in that they are printed on a heavyweight PVC vinyl. The solid sheet design means that the banner has no airflow properties, and therefore this type of banner is not recommended for temporary fencing or other mesh fences in windy areas. Heavy winds on a vinyl banner could cause the fencing to blow over if it is not braced correctly.
Where they shine however is on building signage, hoarding signage and other print applications where you need an excellent quality, high-fidelity print. They can be installed indoors or outdoors as building wraps or branded signage.
Vinyl banners are UV treated to reduce print fade and have a material weight of 440 gsm. Vinyl allows for incredible print quality, however, the open and closed weave mesh still provide excellent print quality.
